THE RIGHTEOUS ARE NOT UNDER THE LAW

                By Dansan Njeru Gitari..."So then the law is holy, and the commandment holy, righteous and good"(Romans7:12).The law and the commandment are generally known as COVENANT and they were made for certain group of people as the apostle Paul elaborates:"we know that the law is good if one uses it properly Wi also know that the law is not made for the righteous but for the lawbreakers,and rebels,the ungodly and sinful,the unholy and irreligious;for those who kill their fathers or mothers,for murderers, for adulterers,and perverts, for slave traders, and liers and purjures-and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that confirms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which He entrusted to me."(1Timothy1:8--11)...let me repeat verse 9 which declares;"We also know that the law is not for the righteous..."If the law is not for the righteous,then the righteous are not under the law.Who are the righteous? The apostle Paul was once a blasphemer,a persecuter,and a violent man.Having experienced all these,the apostle Paul declares;"Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance;Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I the worst"verse15.To be righteous,one must believe that Jesus Christ was Crucified for our sins, died, and ressurected.
