THE RIGHTEOUS AT least NOT UNDER THE LAW...By Dansan Njeru Gitari..So the law is holy, and the commandment holy righteous and good."(Romans7:12).The law and the commandment are generally e COVENANT.They were made for a certain group of people as the Apostle Poul declares:"We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers,and rebels, ungodly and sinful,the unholy and irreligious;for those who kill their fathers or mothers,for murderers, for adulterers,and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers-and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine,that confirms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which He entrusted to me."(1Timothy1:8-11).Let me repeat verse 9;"We also know that the law is made not for the righteous...."If the law is made not for the righteous,then the righteous are not under the law.Who are the righteous? The apostle Paul was once a blasphemer,a persecuter,and a violent man.Having experienced all these, the Apostle Poul confesses:"Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners-of whom I am the worst."(verse15).To be righteous one must believe that Jesus Christ was crucified on the torture stake for our sins,died and ressurected."For it is with your heart that you believe and are just, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved."(Romans10:10)."But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known to which the law and the prophets testify:This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe".(Romans3:21:22)...What happened is that, the law was made weak and powerless by the sinful nature.So,it was not able to do what it was supposed to do in the first place.(
